Course Duration:

Course Objectives: The A1 level is designed for absolute beginners. By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
- Introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know, and things they have.
- Interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
Course Structure: Our Italian A1 course is structured according to the CEFR guidelines and focuses on the four key language skills:
Speaking:
- Basic introduction and greetings.
- Asking and answering simple questions about personal details.
- Describing everyday activities and using simple phrases to express needs and preferences.

Listening:

Reading:

- Describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.
Course Structure: Our Italian A2 course is structured according to the CEFR guidelines and focuses on the four key language skills:
Speaking:
- Participating in short social exchanges, asking for and giving opinions, and expressing likes and dislikes.
- Describing everyday activities and personal experiences.
- Handling short, straightforward exchanges about familiar topics.
- Using a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms their family, living conditions, educational background, and present or most recent job.
Listening:
- Understanding phrases and the highest frequency vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance (e.g., very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
- Catching the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements.
- Following simple directions and comprehending routine spoken communication.
Reading:
- Reading and understanding short, simple texts on familiar matters which consist of high frequency everyday or job-related language.
- Extracting the main idea from short, clear, simple messages and notices.
- Understanding short simple personal letters and emails.
Writing:
- Writing short, simple notes and messages relating to matters in areas of immediate need.

- Deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
- Produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
- Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Course Structure: Our Italian B1 course is structured according to the CEFR guidelines and focuses on the four key language skills:
Speaking:
- Participating in conversations on familiar topics, such as family, hobbies, work, travel, and current events.
- Expressing thoughts on abstract, cultural topics such as films, books, music, etc.
- Narrating a story or relating the plot of a book or film and describing reactions.
- Handling most travel situations and engaging in unprepared conversations on topics of personal interest.
Listening:
- Understanding the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- Catching the main idea and specific details in TV and radio programs on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest.
- Following straightforward factual information about common everyday or job-related topics.
Reading:
- Reading and understanding texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday or job-related language.
- Comprehending descriptions of events, feelings, and wishes in personal letters and emails.
- Understanding the main points in straightforward texts on subjects of personal or professional interest.
Writing:
- Writing simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
- Composing personal letters describing experiences and impressions.
- Writing brief reports or summaries conveying information on everyday events and situations.

- Presenting clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to their field of interest.
- Explaining a viewpoint on a topical issue, giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Listening:
- Understanding extended speech and lectures and following even complex lines of argument provided the topic is reasonably familiar.
- Understanding most TV news and current affairs programs.
- Understanding the majority of films in standard dialect.
Reading:
- Reading articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems in which the writers adopt particular attitudes or viewpoints.
- Understanding contemporary literary prose.
- Reading and understanding texts that include complex ideas and specialized vocabulary.
Writing:
- Writing clear, detailed texts on a variety of subjects related to their interests.
- Writing essays or reports, passing on information or giving reasons in support of or against a particular point of view.
